Chapter 6, Seeking Treasure Underwater with X-ray Vision
Upon seeing this, Xiao Fo noticed that the water in that place was only a little over 2 meters deep. Observing that there was no one around, he took off his clothes, stripped down, and slowly swam into the water. Once in the water, Xiao Fo discovered that he could actually breathe freely, which surprised him greatly. Moreover, he stood at the bottom of the water without floating up, just like standing on solid ground, except that the sand at the bottom was finer, making his movement slower. He then imagined swimming in the air, and his body naturally floated in the water. He strolled leisurely in the water, taking in the scenery around him. This was truly astonishing for him, and he stood at the bottom of the water without floating up, just like standing on solid ground, except that the sand at the bottom was finer, making his movement slower. He then imagined swimming in the air, and his body naturally floated in the water. He strolled leisurely in the water, taking in the scenery around him.
The small Buddha slowly emerged from the water, observing that there was no one around, and then rose straight up into the air before drifting towards the shore
Just as he was immersed in the shimmering water and the colors of the stones, a strange object caught his eye. Next to a large bluestone, there was a dark green object, square in shape, which did not resemble a stone. However, no matter how hard he tried to look closely, he could not see through it. What could this be? It seemed like a box, but it was still opaque. Could it possibly be a treasure chest?
Upon further inspection of the compartment, there were still a few items: an ancient Western magnifying glass, a piece of green jade, and a piece of milky white jade. There was also a set of keys and a letter, the purpose of which was unknown. The young monk carefully arranged these items again and placed the green jade ring on his thumb. To his surprise, as soon as he put it on, the ring vanished. The young monk looked at his finger and found that it was indeed gone, yet he felt no discomfort and paid it no mind, much like the last time when he swallowed the red bead from the reishi mushroom; there were no adverse effects. Having experienced such occurrences frequently, he had grown indifferent to them.
The little monk noticed that the depth of the box was not great, and it seemed to have a hidden compartment. He poured out the copper coins and saw what appeared to be a handhold at the bottom, so he reached in and pulled it up. To his surprise, there was indeed a hidden compartment inside. It seemed to contain a book and some small items, which he took out. He saw that the book was written in small script; although the characters were in traditional Chinese, they were clear and legible.
Upon reaching the vehicle, Xiao Fo prepared to open the box to see what was inside. The box had an ancient internal lock at the bottom, and after searching around, Xiao Fo found no place to unlock it. Noticing that one corner of the box was wrapped in a piece of copper, he used a knife to pry it open with force, only to discover that a key was hidden inside.
It is strange, Xiao Fo feels that this is not a beam of light, but rather like the glasses of Erlang Shen, suddenly revealing the images from outside. Yet at this moment, he is clearly with his eyes closed
The general meaning of the book is: This is an ancient coin collection meticulously preserved by an old scholar from the Qing Dynasty, which includes rare ancient coins from the pre-Qin period to the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty. It primarily features fifty of the rarest ancient coin masterpieces and several hundred types of ancient coins that are now extremely scarce, along with some jade coins. The collection contains illustrations of various coins and their purchase prices at the time. Among the most peculiar is a coin shaped like a knife, seemingly called "One Knife Equal to Five Thousand." There is also a square coin with a round knob on top, which appears to be the national treasure worth ten thousand. Additionally, there is a knife-shaped coin, cloth coins, and some round coins with unique hieroglyphs. Although Xiao Fo rarely engages in collecting and cannot afford it, he knows from books and television that some of these ancient coins can be worth hundreds of thousands each, and he is certainly aware that these ancient coins could represent a substantial fortune.
The water in the small river flows gently, the sunlight warms the body pleasantly, and the little monk slightly closes his eyes, allowing all the muscles in his body to relax to their fullest extent
At that moment, a sudden pain struck Xiao Fo's mind, and a beam of light appeared at his forehead. Xiao Fo was taken aback as he noticed that this beam of light grew stronger and hotter by the second, and suddenly it shot out from his forehead.
After school, Xiao Fo drove his Cheetah towards home. Passing by a small river, he was captivated by the exquisite scenery along the riverbank. He stopped the car, took out a small stool, and sat by the river, enjoying the rare beauty of the evening.
This is a key made of copper or gold. It was inserted into the keyhole of the hidden lock, and with a gentle twist, the key turned slightly, producing a sound of metal shavings rubbing against each other from within. When it could no longer turn, the box suddenly showed a slight looseness. The small monk gently pressed down on the hidden lock, causing the lock plate on the box to spring open. Grasping the lock tongue, the small monk carefully opened the box, only to find its contents somewhat disappointing—a pile of copper coins of varying sizes. Although they were all exquisitely crafted, they were, after all, not as delightful as gold and silver treasures.
It appears to be quite old, the style of the box is rather antiquated, yet it is not exquisite. Ordinary cloud patterns are engraved around it. Regardless, the little monk exerted himself and easily pulled the box out of the mud. It is not very large, but it is estimated to weigh around forty to fifty pounds, as if the entire box were made of cast iron.
The twilight sun casts its light upon the water, creating shimmering golden spots. The little monk has completely transformed his state of mind. When he contemplates the endlessness of life and the infinite extension of days, the little monk has now regarded leisure as his most significant task at present
He not only saw the images outside, but these images were clearly different from what the eyes perceived. They were not only exceptionally clear, but also capable of penetrating through branches and leaves to see far away, even the cicadas behind the tree trunks could be seen. Moreover, he could zoom in and out, much like a camera's zoom lens.
Many weeping willows grow along the riverbank, and the pristine river surface winds and curves. Patches of duckweed cover large areas of the water, creating an ideal environment for fishing. Xiao Fo lazily takes out his fishing rod, skillfully threads the bait onto the hook, and with a flick of his wrist, the hook and line land accurately in the center of the small river. Watching the bobber rise and fall with the waves, this feeling is truly delightful
Put these things away, Xiao Fo put away the fishing rod and decided not to fish anymore. He decided to go home early to make up for his knowledge of collectibles and to see how much these ancient coins are actually worth
Little Buddha tried to control this beam of light, looking towards the center of the river in the distance, where the swimming fish and the pebbles in the water were all clearly discernible
Xiao Fo quickly placed these ancient coins on the cotton mat beside him, as some of the coins were quite old and could easily be damaged if not handled carefully
Soon, he arrived beside the box, where the duckweed floated on the water's surface, and a few rays of light filtered down, creating a bizarre interplay of light and shadow. He crouched down and slowly wiped away the water plants on the box, revealing a dark and ominous box.
